Mechanical impurities
Solid particles, or else mechanical impurities are in a certain amount and in different sizes contained in most of the supplied waters. These are mostly particles of rust, fine sand, gravel, various mud, clay, loose pipeline sediments and the other debris that can be found in the public water grid, private boreholes and wells.
These particles tend to vary in size, which may range from the visible, in units of millimeters, to those in tenths of a micron, which is not visible to the naked eye. Such contaminants are often the cause of clogged, congested and damaged piping, valves, boilers, heaters and any other devices connected to a water source that is not protected against this issue.
Solution of this problem is to install a strainer either at the beginning of the supply point, where it will protect all parts of the distribution system, including installed equipment and fittings, or even directly in front of the equipment which needs to be protected against damage. Filters and filter elements / cartridges can be divided according to the desired installation, maixmum flow, permeability of the filter material, or possibility of a manual or automatic cleaning.
